For fans of the Harry Potter series, your Hogwart’s house placement is more than just a title or a quiz on the internet. Whether you’re a Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff matters greatly to a fan’s self-understanding and ego. So, when Pottermore relaunched back in September and changed the concept of the site completely, everyone wondered what would become of the popular house-sorting quiz designed by Queen Rowling herself.

Four months floo (get it?) by without the ability for new users to sort themselves, and those who had been placed in a house in the past longed for their old profile page with the house welcome article and photos of their common room. Though the wait is over and the quiz has been returned to the site,  Potter fans on social networks have shared their fears of answering all of the questions again and ending up with different results. After years of believing you’re in one house and identifying with the corresponding characteristics, it’s terrifying to think of being sorted anywhere else.

The Questions

The similar if not identical questions in the new quiz make the whole process eerily intimidating. It’s hard not to try and think back to your previous answers, making the journey towards the end result possibly more difficult than before. Sweating yet?

The Wand

You’ve reached the end, and whether the result is what you wanted or not, it’s time to do it all over again with the wand.

Remember, the wand chooses the wizard, so chanting the details of your previously issued wand won’t help.

I cheated and used both a legitimate and a dummy account, and after being sorted into Gryffindor (which I love, but it’s just not the same after all of these years) I typed in my old username and up popped my one true house and wand.

I mean, who could turn down a common room like this? It’s basically a hobbit hole! 10 points to Hufflepuff.
