October’s promise of a YA Doctor Who spinoff show has finally come to fruition with today’s announcement of the core cast of characters.

The story will take place at Coal Hill School, where the very first episode of Doctor Who first occurred, and where Clara and Danny Pink were both teachers.

Spotlighted  are students played by Vivian Oparah, Greg Austin, Fady Elsayad, and Sophie Hopkins.

The article states that these four students “have hidden secrets and desires. They are facing their own worst fears, navigating a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow – and possibly the end of existence.”

Katherine Kelly (Coronation Street, Life on Mars, Mr. Selfridge) stars as teacher and “powerful new presence” according to BBC.

News of Class was met with mixed opinions, as some Whovians can’t see anything touching the fandom-love that Torchwood received, while others are excited for the new time and space adventures possible at a school that has been overwrought with wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey happenings in the past.
